For the avid “Bomberman” fan, the list of games in the “Bomberman” series is vast, making it difficult to determine if “Bomberman Live!” is worth the 800 Microsoft Points.  Players will quickly find out that the 800 points
is a small price to pay for the quality game that they will receive in return.  After a few hiccups in the series with such games as “Act Zero,” “Bomberman Live!” takes the series back to the roots that made it popular in the
beginning.  As a result of the change this game, which was exclusively developed for the Xbox Live Arcade, will prove that developers put in a lot of work with this game to ensure its success.
This time around the classic party game adds a four person local multiplayer mode and an eight player online mode.  Along with the high definition visuals, global wide tournaments, the option to create a personalized
Bomberman and the support of the Xbox Live Vision camera, players have a “Bomberman” game that any fan of the series will enjoy.  The game also takes on a much more modern version of the games from the past.
The game looks and sounds like it was made in Japan, even though it was created in Vancouver.

For those who have not been introduced to the series, “Bomberman” is an arcade style maze game that pits players against a number of enemies, trying to destroy them with bombs that are strategically places through
the level.  Players are able to destroy objects as well as they work towards blasting a path to victory.  The overall game play of “Bomberman Live!” is perfect for a beginner because the control mechanics are easy to
learn, but difficult to master, making it perfect for gamers of every level of gaming.  Players have the ability to drop bombs by pressing the A button.  The bomb will explode after a couple of seconds, shooting flames down
any open paths vertically and horizontally.  The bomb’s flames will destroy anything in its path, from destroyable blocks, enemies and the player.  However, there are solid blocks that cannot be destroyed, allowing
players to have some protection from attacks.  Also, players will have access to power-ups that are scattered throughout the level, allowing player to increase their firepower and speed.  There are also power-downs that
will cause players to become sick.  Players can also kick bombs by pressing the X button, allowing them to set traps for their enemies.  As stated before, the controls are simple to learn, difficult to empty.

One element of “Bomberman Live!” that sets it apart from its counterparts is the large amount of customization that allows players to pick their character’s head, torso and legs.  There are 24 unique costumes in the
game, some of which are unlockable after picking up Costume Balls that can be found in the arenas during game play.  With that many costume pieces; there are over 10,000 different costume combinations.  Though
the customization isn’t necessary for the game, it is useful since eight characters running around in the same costume would be difficult to differentiate between.  Of course the customization of the game doesn’t stop
with costumes.  The game also offers seven different modes of play and eight different levels.  That brings 56 different games to play.  Add to that the option to choose which power-ups and power-downs are to be
featured in every match; players are sure to have plenty of game to play with “Bomberman Live!”

The element that many gamers may be looking for when determining which Xbox Live Arcade game to purchase is the ability to play multiplayer games.  “Bomberman Live!” lets players play with up to four players on
local play.  Players are also able to include bots in each round and set the level of difficulty of each bot from Easy, Normal, and Hard.  This allows for a total of eight players in each game, with four of the players being
bots of any difficulty that the players want them to be.  Since there is a spot for each player, bots can each have their own difficulty setting, allowing any combination of bots to be in a single match.  There is also an online
game play option through Xbox Live that allows players to enjoy an eight player match and the ability to customize all the settings of the match.  Throw in the Xbox Live Vision camera support, players will have one of the
best Xbox Live Arcade experiences available.

Anyone who picks up a controller and plays “Bomberman Live!” will realize that it is a must have Xbox Live Arcade game for the Xbox 360.  All of the customization options available in the game make this version of the
game as complex or as easy as players want it to be.  Players can train themselves by using bots in matches to learn new techniques, or they can face off against human opponents, whether they are friends or people
from another country.  For fans of the series, there is no question about buying this game.  For those who are new to the series and have never played a game in the “Bomberman” series, this Xbox Live Arcade game is
worth all of the Microsoft Points that need to be spent on it.  The only problem with the game this time around is how addictive it gets to be, though that isn’t always a really bad thing, especially with this game.
